One For The Record Books.
Toronto Real Estate Board has announced that 2015 was a record year for TREB MLS® home sales, in the GTA. At 101,299 transactions, this represented a year-over-year sales increase of 9.2%. In addition, GTA REALTORS® reported the second best sales result on record for the month of December. The average sale price increased 9.5% for the month, compared to the same period last year. The number of sales was up 11.9% year-over-year and homes sold slower than during the same period last year, with average days on market down 9.4% to 29 days. Furthermore, record sales and a constrained supply of available listings drove the average selling price, as a whole, up 9.8% for 2015, according to TREB, Director, Market Analysis, Jason Mercer, in his monthly video report.
